Default HELP with POWER COMMANDER 3

So i bought a pc3 from ebay, but it is just the unit,it did not come with a usb cable or the 9volt battery connection or install instructions. Putting it in should not be a problem but to download maps might be since i dont know were to start, any advice would help greatly, im guessing i need to buy the usb cable and 9 volt connector ? I have a 08 fxdf with 1.75 baffles and se air cleaner if that helps. Help please

If I remember right it just uses a standard USB male a to b connector:

And if you use a laptop to upload the maps then you don't need the 9v connector, etc it will get power from the laptop for the upload. And when the bike is on it will be powered by the battery.

Actually, it's a Standard USB and Micro USB. If you have any older blackberry that cable will work just fine. You don't need a battery if you have a laptop just connect and install the map.

That would be it and now thinking about it the micro is right. The a to b connection would be too large to fit to the pcIII connection. I lost my original and used my PS3 controller charger cable to load my maps.

If you go to the Power Commander website they have all sorts of user information there.

The software and maps can be downloaded from Power Commander. The CD is not required.

No, you will download the map file to the desktop. When you open up the PC software you will pull the map in and there is an option to load it to the PCIII. When the upload is complete it will tell you and you unplug the usb cable from the PCIII and start the bike, ride and enjoy. It is really basic software with uploading, etc. But don't mess with the maps unless you have a wideband and know what you are doing.
