There is a history of Harley bikes at this link. There is one shown that matches your parents bike. My Dad had a Harley in the later 40's but he and Mom are gone and I don't have any pictures so don't know what model he had. I was born in 1950, I think the Panhead had just come out then or maybe it was still the Ironhead not sure.
Nice photo's. I can't help with the bike, but it looks almost like the one my father road in the Philippines. He was a electrical Sargent in the army. Would love to own some of the old bikes.
Thanks for the help, Randy! I guess you're right it's a "C" with some modifications to the front fender (sort of extra mud flaps along the side) and a different kind of solo seat bracket.

Me neither, Andy! Ride safe, brother.

Every time I see a post of yours I can't help but notice the Netherlands region it says you're posting from. I have nothing but great times and memories in that region. I've been there a few times. But it's been about 5 years now. Curse the financial loses involved in building a new home.
On a funny side note: I remember my first time going to the Dutch Hells Angels Bar in the Red Light District. Walked in there with a buddy, hadn't even made it as far as sitting down to order my first (and only) beer before some lady with 'her man' yells out in her rudest of voices to me "Take off that Jacket if you plan on staying in here!" lol...I guess it was a little too fancy for the occasion, and not made out of leather. Needless to say, we didn't feel too welcome there...We had one fast beer and left.
Take care and ride on!

Looking back on things now, I don't know what he was thinking letting me hop on his bike and take off for 5-10 minutes at a time when I was only 12. FWIW, they were back country roads near where he use to camp in the summers.
Needless to say, he wasn't too pleased when my first 4 bikes weren't Harleys. I was stubborn. And now that I finally have one, he tells me bikes are dangerous and I shouldn't ride. Go figure. Too late pops...you're the one that tossed it in my blood.
Thanks for sharing these great stories, Kirk!

Perhaps one day a photo of your Dad and his bike shows up! I was surprised when I found this one after Mom had passed away. I never knew she had this photo....
Thanks for the Wiki link....interesting info over there!
