Well Ive got my bike all apart in the garage and im trying to install the easy bracket kit on it. problem is the "docking posts" do not fit into the rear fender strut and without fitting into the holes none of the bolts are long enough. I have verified the part number of the kit with my make and model and its supposed to be correct. Has anyone installed these and had to drill or reem out their fender strut?
If so i wouldnt call these easy brackets. Tried calling the company but of course they arent open on sundays and I will be out of town for a week starting monday afternoon.
am I to assume you have the detachable backrest based on what you've written? if so, did you order the correct EZB part number for use with a detachable backrest?
No i have a hardmount sissybar and the kit says its able to be used with one as it is mounted inside of the fender strut.
in the two pictures are the docking posts. the first picture I highlighted the areas that in their diagram go inside the existing fender strut holes. the second is a picture of it next to the hole. The holes are close to the same size as the posts I would guess about 1/16 smaller.
*Edit* I think they gave me the docking posts that are for use with a detatchable sissy bar but the rest of the kit was the one I ordered. Looking at videos on youtube the ones without a sissy bar do not have the parts i highlighted in my picture.
I had some issues with the bolts I received as well. Just give them a call and they will send out what you need for free. They did that for me. Very easy to work with.
