Default 103 upgrade question

I was looking through the Screamin Eagle catalog and was thinking of buying the 103 kit. I actually already have most of the gaskets needed so I went throught the parts list picking out the parts I needed and after pricing them I could do the job for about 330$ in parts shipped to my house. I already installed 255 cams last year and changed the AC and exhaust.
Is the 103 jugs and pistons going to make that much of a differance to the bike to justify the 330$ cost and my time? While Im in there is there anything else that needs to be changed? When I installed the cams I had to go back and change the clutch spring to a heavyer one because of slippage, would I need to change the compansator after the 103 install?
Any other suggestions or tips?

Regarding just the bigger jugs we were always taught " There's no replacement for cubic displacement." The biggest, least expensive power increase you will ever get is the bigger jugs and pistons.

Since Im one to never be happy with what I have ( at least thats what my wife tells me all the time, which I dont think is true since in 2 weeks we will be married 25 years) I have pretty much convinced myself to get the parts and just do it. Any input on other parts that should be changed along with the jugs and pistons?

i would have your jugs bored to a set of wiseco pistons. i put the domed one in my ride. i had to install ACR's but well worth it. better to bore to match the piston

Get your hands on some cast flat tops for 175, and bore your seasoned jugs. That cam will work excellent with those pistons. No need for forged. Get yourself some compression releases just in case and defiantly a set of .027 or .030 gaskets.

Holy SH*T I never thought about boring my jugs. My brother will be pissed at me since he owns and operates a machine shop. My cost just went down by 140$.

Man if I where in there no way I would put it back together without having the heads re-worked or buy some aftermarket ones.

ditto. $450 for headwork (at Dewey's where I had mine done), you'll be glad you did.

I wouldn't spend too much on porting with low RPM cams. A cleanup, decent valve job and CC'ing is all you need, getting the comp. set right is the key to having a good build.
