Default Shorter Shocks on FXDWG

Hi everyone, new here and have a question. I have done a fair amount of searching but havent found the info i am looking for. What type of modification and how much is needed to do to the rear fender to use 11" Progressive shocks. I have read that these shocks will lower the rear about 2". Is this true? Thanks in advance for the help.

im running the burly 10.5 inch shocks in the rear on my WG and I only had to remove my belt guard....only problem i have is that is rubs the tire only on real hard bumps like a hard speed bump hit or a BIG pothole....nothing to serious though....haven't had any problem with the caliper bleeder port hitting either

the pre 06 wideglide the fender will rub the belt guard just in front of the your shock. Personally, I would not go lower than 11.5". Look at Ricor shocks, or for chrome/polished shocks, works street tracker shocks. they'll be made to your rider weight, ride 1000x better and not cause bottoming out dump truck ride issues. personally I would not go lower than 12" shocks myself. I have 12" shocks on my bike and it came with the 12 5/8" shocks. Makes a very noticable difference in height without causing issue with ride, handling, 2up riding.
