Even if the roads are dry, you are going to be colder than hell, which is only going to add to the stress of trying to look cool riding away from the dealer on your brand new heavyweight motorcycle. Have them deliver the bike and you can spend the rest of the day drooling over your new beauty and getting familiar with all of its features, making initial adjustments to the bars, levers, etc. Go through the start-up routine. Get familiar with where the turn-signal and horn buttons are. Practice putting the kickstand up and down. Then, when the weather's nicer, you can take her out at your own pace. Ride around the block, make a clutch-lever adjustment. Ride around the block again, make a brake-lever adjustment, etc. Take your time and enjoy it. Just my
