I own a 2009 SG. The 1st modicifiction was to go from stock bars to Bagger Apes. I opted to go with 13'' cycle smiths. They are awesome for the long haul and look great. I am 6'1'' so the apes with the stock seat put my arms just a little higher than parallel to the deck. Looks cool and was not uncomfortable at all during the 98 mile ride last weekend...

One of my issues is that on my 2011 FXDB the raisers are built into the top triple tree.. So if you want to change the riser, you also have to buy a new triple tree and tear into the forks to get it done.

I ordered the Santee Bonanza II narrow 15" bars yesterday.

Thanks for all the advice and help.

be careful... 9 out of 10 riders I talk to with apes say the same thing... "I should have went taller"

Thanks for the warning..

I've had apes on a few of my bikes and have learned that it's wise to model them with bent coat hanger wire before purchasing. I've done that in this case and the fit for the bars I've ordered seems about right.

Something that alot of forum members with your problem (integrated risers) have used, with positive results (including myself) are these made by Loner Industries:

http://lonerindustries.com/Products.aspx

I am going with 14" chubbys and so that they clear the tops of the triple trees, I went with a 1" rise..

That's a really good idea, been trying to figure out a way to do a fairly accurate measurement without alot of work, thanks for the tip

Hey Tinker, I think I read something about a recall. They called them CC Bonanza. Pretty sure they're the same bars. There was a post on here that the weld was cracking. The post even had a link to the company. Good luck bro.
