Default Blueing chrome

This may come off a little strange, as many ask how to rid this, but does anyone know a process for blueing (sp) Chrome in a consistent fashion. I understand its done by heat, (as with the exhaust), but how might 1 blue other chrome components? Is it as easy as sticking parts in an oven? At what temp does it start to blue? At what temp with it start affecting the structural integrity of the parts. Ive always been infatuated with how Chrome looks when blue, and tossing the idea around of trying to blue most of my Chrome parts. Bars, light housing, dashboard, belt guards, ect. Just tossing around ideas.

I have done this in the past but i suggest you find some old chrome stuff and use a torch to do it..too hot and it will peel the nickle layer..
Practice is needed for sure.......

Thank you for responding. I plan to "test" with junk pieces and take offs before hitting my parts for sure. Do you have any pics of pieces you've done this with?

Thanks for the post... I see you're not crazy bout Chrome either. Maybe I should opt to paint everything black just like everyone else. I think I wanna try something different than the norm.

I think the blue will look good if it doesnt overpower everything else.

Haven't ever seen it on bikes, but they make some car wheels in like a gun metal gray chrome.... have seen it by different names. I always thought it was pretty sweet, and have never been a fan of shiny chrome stuff on anything.
