Default 07 Dyna 103 conversion

The 07 SE catalogue shows a number of different 103 conversions for the new 96 motors. Ive done a few 883 to 1200 conversions and camswaps without any problems.

I was wondering how involved these would be on a Big Twin. I realize that these are a piston and jug swap where there is no longer the need for a stroker crank. There are some spacers mentioned in the kits that HD sells for various conversion levels, not sure where they go.

I am considering a 103 kit that also includes cams and upgraded heads for an 07 Street Bob which I should have soon. Thanks in advance for any input.

I think with your backround you can do the work yourself. There is information out there showing how a twin cam assembles, and since you are working on an 07 you can just go with new improved chain drive cams which are cheaper and easier to install than the gear drive cams. I would do a lot of homework if i were you on this and other forums like v-twin. I am not a big fan of the Sceamin Eagle kits or heads, I think there are cheaper and better ways to go. Having said that, I do have SE flattop cast pistons in my bike because they are such a bargain....

Do a search on the 95" kit, it's the same thing. The differance is that 95" started ouit as 88", and 103" started out as 96". It's the same job, and essentially the same parts.

You have a lot of choices in parts and kits. Mostly it depends on your goals and budget.

I may also consider just cams and a stage 2 head porting on the 07 stock 96 inch motor. Not sure what kind of HP and TQ numbers that would give me.

edelbrock makes a killer 95' kit for $2400 for 88' motors not sure about the 96s yet . Might want to check it out , the kit makes like 105 to 110 hp . Def wont get that out of an SE kit
