I'm headin out on a 6 day ride next week through Nevada and Arizona.
What do you Dyna guys haul for a tool kit? Anyone use those tire repair kits with the Co2 cartriges? I might have a old tool pouch around to put some in but I would buy a complete kit if there is one out there you guys like?
Standard stuff, sockets, combo sided whenches, and a torx set, small flashlight, plug kit (mag wheels), cell phone charger that I made a plug for my battery tender plug.
Instead of a set of sockets, I bring a socket wrench and one of those gator sockets with all the pins so it fits a wide range of sizes. That thing works great and takes up less room.
Is that ur bike in your avatar? If so those co2 and tire repair kits will do no good with spoked rims that run inner tubes. But there was a tool thread going on in the general harley chat yesterday. Lots of good info in there.
This RoadTechH3 tool roll is in my luggage when I go out riding on longer trips. It was sent to me from the USA by one of the forum members (thanks again, Rich)!
From the time I bought my bike and started working on it, each time the tools I used go into my toolbag. When I come into a new situation that requires a new tool, afterwards that new tool gets added to the bag.
SAE allen wrenches (all sizes including 3/8 (not 100% on that size; guessing from memory) which will remove the air filter bolt)
Couple of metric allens that will remove the front axle covers and axle bracket (5mm) on the bottom of the one fork lower
full set of torx bits
adjustable wrench
blue loktite
zipties
pair of dikes (diagonal cutters)
channel locks
vise grip
if I need anything larger I'll stick it in the saddlebag like an extra quart of oil.
socket wrench
screwdrivers (flat/phillips)
