Getting ready to install a Fat Cat on wifes Fat Bob. Has the quiet baffle in it, but not sure if I will like it. Has anybody changed baffles in these pipes? Dealer told me it can be difficult. Really think I would be happier with a standard baffle. I like a louder exhaust as long as it has a good sound. Kind of paranoid about "slipping" around undetected on a motorcycle. I like to be seen and heard.
I have a Thunderheader on my Street Glide with SE255 cams and think it is fine. Maybe a borderline loud on me when I wear the over ear helmet in cold weather. Any other time its just right!!!
There is nothing quiet at all about their quiet baffle. But, they can be a serious hassle to get out. If yow ant to change to a standard, change it now before the packing melts to the inside of the muffler housing.
Thanks for the replies. I might just try the quiet baffle for a while. I removed the bolt and tugged on it a bit. Seems like they fit really tight. I'm sure some of the packing is melted because it is a year old exhaust that I bought.
Its not like I think loud is the answer. A good sounding bike has a nice exhaust note. I have decided to change cams while installing the exhaust. That should really make the difference. Woods Knight Prowler 555 here we come!!!!
I wish my wife would just be satisfied and leave her bike alone. I would have been satisfied with it stock. NOT! LOL!
