I like the stocks myself. I've never had an issue with handling or wear. It's the price that sucks in Canada, all tires are pricey up here.

That aggressive tread pattern just adds to the FB's style.

I switched to the Metzeler ME880's and they definitely handle better than the stock tires. Even when just rolling the bike around the driveway or the garage, they have a totally different sound. They make more of a rubbery gripping sound than the stock tires did. I haven't had them on too long so I can't speak to the life of the tire. I got 12K out of my stock tires.

I am going to have to agree with EricInNCA. I went with the Metzler 880s and love them. I put a 150 on the front a 200 in the back. Both tires look great and are sticky. I got about 15K out of the stockers, which I was very impressed with, but I don't think I will ever go back to them. FYI. If you try to have the stealership install the fatty tires, they may not do it due to liability of installing larger than specified tires. I went to an indy to get my work done.

I put the Metzler 880's on mine.
I have 7000 miles on them now and they still handle like new ones.

Those of you with the 200 on the rear can you post up a picture? There was an earlier post that stated another thread showed them mounted. I went to that thread and the pictures are no longer on there.

Can you run a 200mm rear tire on a Fat Bob factory wheel with 11" rear suspension?

Metz ME880's here. I don't do twisties often enough to be agressive at it, so I can't speak with any authority about that.

A couple of things I can speek with confidence about them are; They are a great all weather preformer. I'm pritty much a 365 rider, and do a fair amount of "weather time". Traction is superior on wet roads.

Most of my riding is commuting, with a little touring from time to time. I get mixed up in "White Knuckle" traffic often and have to count on heavy braking often. They haven't let me down yet. And believe me, I talking forks bottomed out, and tires beginning to chirp!

Good wear too. An average Year for me is 20K+, and that equals out to 2 rear and one front.

Another + is that you run a radial on the rear (Mine is a 170 - 60VR - 17) and you havn't before... that butt wiggle you experience when you hit a "road snake" seam on the road will go away. Big plus in my book.

Hope this helps...

Best wishes....Tim(HT)

I just installed ME880's myself and got an impressive 17k on my stock '09 Fat Bob tires and I think I really had another 1k-2k left. I'd like to get the 200/150 installed next time as well, you got some close up photos to show off?
