About the same amount of work as putting a cats head on a dog....
Welcome to the forum. The 07 is a lot bigger and rake will be different depending on which model. Not sure if the steering head diameter is the same which is a big issue if it is not. You need to check the dimensions and angle of the steering head on both bikes first. I doubt they are the same.
have a chance to pick up the 07
front end with 5 degree raked triple tree and 49 mm tubes, I would like to go with the bigger tubes anyway and was wondering if this would be a easy swap

Forum member GeorgeJ did it with his ... however, I think he used the stock triple trees (i.e., did not add rake) ....
I don't believe it was too much trouble ... there is about an eighth inch (1/8") difference in the steering stem ... will require you to shim it ... other than that pretty straight forward ....
Just need to make sure your axle, fender and wheel will all work ... need to be the same year or 'vintage' ... the length of the axle will vary from the narrow- to mid-glide or wide glide (whichever you are going to) ... and, the axle diameter changed as well, I believe ....
The fender mount went from 'horizontal' oriented bolts to 'vertical' orientation ....
I put a new 49mm front end on my brothers 05fxdx. It has 3 degree accutronix trees. Put a new wheel and fender on too. Hardest thing was getting legs and hub to suit twin disc. You will also need new headlight and mounting for the speedo if it's not tank mounted. Here is a link. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/showt...t=05+fxdx+mods

I gotta ask...doesn't the fxdx have dual disc brakes, and adjustable front suspension, whereas the 49mm front end doesn't? Seems like that's a step or two backwards.
