When installing the RTB module do you have to switch your turn signal bulbs from the single filament 1156 to the dual filament 1157? I haven't seen anywhere that you have to but it seems to make more sense to me. I have an '02 and im not sure if that also makes a difference (I vaguely recollect hearing something about the lights being changed to running lights and not just blinkers after a certain year.) Either way, my stock bulbs are single filament currently. Does that need to change? Thanks
plug and play just have to use the red lenses or get some red bulbs installed on my bike couple of weeks ago. I really like how it increases rear visibility to traffic behind.
i installed the HD module this weekend... no change in bulb 'cept the colour!
Where did you pick up the new color bulbs? i found a set of red ones in the rice burner section of Pep Boys auto store but they have the wrong terminal (two contact points vs the one on the stock light.) I've found some places online where i could order them but would rather pick them up at a store for convenience reasons.
For those who might be wondering: i want red bulbs because i am using smoked lenses instead of the red ones that come with the RTB kit
The module simply lowers the amperage to the bulbs in 'run' mode, so when you hit the turn's, or brakes, the bulbs get brighter.
I was wondering how that worked...
And thanks to everyone else for confirming the bulb situation. I chopped the brake light and the turn signals off my fender and relocated the signals under the swing arm. With only a tiny brake light on the side mount plate i thought it might be a good idea to light up the signals even if they are low to the ground
