When I bought my FatBob, I had the Stage 1 done with a D&D FatCat, the high-flow air cleaner that fits under the stock cover (29406-08), and the ECM flash from the dealer.
I just recently switched to the Ventilator Air Cleaner (28722-10). Since both are high-flow filters for Stage 1, do I need to re-flash the ECM for the specific change in air cleaner, or is the flash more broad than that? In other words, is the download for THAT SPECIFIC air cleaner, or is it just for a "high flow cleaner" of any kind?
You will be OK, the 'remap' is for any A/C that flows enough for stage-1.
Personally though if that's all I was going to do (pipes, A/C and dealer map) then I'd fit some Xieds too to lower the engine temp and make the engine run a bit smoother.
Foxter, thanks for the response. That's what I figured and when I rode the bike last night after making the change, everything seemed good to go.
I'm not sure what else I am going to do yet. I planned on a Stage 3 103" build, but I might wait until the warranty is out and then do an independent build of some kind.
I will admit though, the bike's got some ***** right now with just the Stage 1 and I have an Aprilia for when I want to go fast anyway.
