Default What a difference the ThunderMax makes

Not sure if it is the new PM grips, or the ThunderMax.....

Well, I finished installing the ThunderMax with autotune and took her for her maiden voyage. All I can say is WOW!! What difference. She feels like she wants to run, more than she did before.
Did a quick 0-60 run and without even trying the time was 4.2 seconds, which is better than my best before of 4.4, I am a believer.
This is all with a canned base map, will do some fine tuning when it warms up a bit more.
She also feels smoother, and there is zero decel pop, didn't have anything worth complaining about before, but it is non-existent now.
This runs much better than it did with the PC III I had in her.

For those that enjoy sounds...

It gets better after the learning process and you run an auto map.

Looking forward to that...
Was interesting doing the initial setup, Target AFR was about 13.6, will be very interested to see where that goes after some riding.
Weather is suppose to be better after tomorrow, so hopefully will put some miles on and then fine tuning time.

Not that one is available for your bike, but I'm curious if a Power Commander V w/ auto-tune would have produced similar results.

Does the PC-V use a wide band o2 sensor setup?

It might then, I really do not know much about the PC-V unit. I think the biggest difference is that the TMax replaces the entire ECM, but the PC-V is an add-on unit. I like having the space under my seat free again. Don't feel like I have to worry about packing everything back in like I did with the PC III.

Hmm I didn't know it was a solo unit, I thought it was an addon like the power commander. I'll have to try the auto-tune on pcv. It's impressive that you got - 0.2 seconds off your 0-60 just from swapping computers.
