Default Road King shocks on a Super Glide

I just installed on my bone-stock 2007 Super Glide a set of stock length (13") rear air shocks of of my brother in laws Bagger as he isntalled some shorter ones. It required only one 1/16" thick washer top and bottom for clearance. I thought I would have problems with the rear muffler but none occured. I bought some $70.00 chrome glue-on covers for the shocks to spruce it up a bit as I had them on my 1200 Cutom before installing them on the Dyna. Yes, photos would be nice, but for some reason which I can't figger out, I can neither view youse guises pictures or upload my own. Right now, as on the Sportster, I am just running them with the oil and the shipping plugs installed in the holes where the schader valves normally go. It worked this way great on the Sportster, and will test the ride on the way to college tomorrow. But I believe I will need to go to an auto parts store, buy a pair of schrader valves, then to a bicycle shop and purchase a inexpensive bicycle tire pump and put 15 or 20 psi in each. if anyone trys this DO NOT pay the outrageous price the dealership wants for the touring model air ride pump. It is the same damn thing as a bicycle tire pump. These stock length shocks can be found on the internet for low prices as touring bike owners usually like to lower their sleds. Thought you'd like to know.

Ive been going through the complaints today in this section about not being able to access PMs or pictures and I see that almost every person with a problem has made less than 5 posts, or theyve been here for less than five days. This is why a great many of the people having the problem later post "nevermind..it works now".

If you are having these problems and you have less than five posts and less than five days on the forum...nothing is wrong. If youve been inactive for a long time, welcome back...post around the forum a little and when the system upgrades usergroups (usually later in the evening) you should be promoted.

If any of you have been here for more than five days and more than five posts (dont assume..make sure), please post in this section with a link to the thread with the pictures that you cannot see.

Thank you for your time and patience while we deal with the spam issues.

Believe it or not, it does not really look that bad. My stock ones were 12 5/8" long so they're not that much longer. I just returned from a ride and they worked perfect! With the 13" length I could not get the thing to bottom out as I jumped up and down on the bike off the kickstand. And they look very kewl with the chorme covers I found online for cheap. they just slipped over the top before installation and I used some gorrilla-snot type glue to keep them on.

And cornering clearnace is better as well.

I went to the local H-D dealer to price the official crosseover lines and charging system for Road Kings and it is $34.00 so I will probably pick the set up, snake it under neath the seat and frame and i should have a good charging system.

Mine are 13.5". They do wonders for handling and rough roads. It's the same set-up that Brian at Ricor runs on his Dyna.
