I put some new grips on my bike and the throttle now rocks rack and forth a bit like it has play in the linkage, i can't remember if it did it with the stock grips. It still snaps back to idle and seems to function. Has anyone ran into that? Do i just need to adjust it as the manual states? or should it have a bit of play in it?
Yeah, just keep adjusting the idle cable nut until you get to that threshold where it started to stick and not snap back, but then one more turn of the nut gave it that quick release. That should be the sweet spot where you get as little play as possible.
Then of course with the throttle cable, you need to visually watch your adjustments at the carb until the throttle cam is a rats hair from touching the throttle stop.
You then should have reached the 'quan' and are good to go!

My problem is it works great, little to no play and then I turn the wheel all the way to the right and it goes back to sticking. I havent found an adjustment where there is no play and it doesn't stick with the wheel in all directions. If that makes any sense. On my bike there is always a small amout of play with the wheel straight, no play at all when the wheel is turned to the right or left.
