The "lids" or "flaps" hold up ok at highway speeds, although they bow out a bit due to catching the wind. My belt guards are also off, but no need for the lower straps. The bags sit on the swingarm on my lowered bike and with OEM shocks it still doesn't come close to hitting the wheel or belt. They stay put and don't flop around even without the lower straps on. I would recommend axle nut covers though. With or without the straps. The axle and nut really seem to chew up the inside of the bag without the covers.

Looks like the bags have held up pretty well. I'm looking at BAD&G for a bag for my nightster. Did you get the 10-12 oz steer or 8-9 oz buffalo leather? I want a bag that will hold its shape over the years and not sag.

Not trying to high jack here but was wondering something.....? If you have throw overs it doesn't seem there would be much difference if you tie them down similar to these. Just hear so many people saying not to run throw overs without brackets.

Those go to the swing arm right? I've got a set of throw overs with straps on the bottom too. I would guess they should be slightly loose for swing arm movement?

Is that a licence plate kit from leather pros? I would also like to see a side picture. Does it fit well with your licence plate?
