Default S&S 106 BB kit blew up

Well I had a head gasket go so had mech take apart the heads and look at the cyls they were laquered gold, not good. What can cause this and do I have any way to fix it, over sized pistons with a bore on the cyls??

How was it tuned? A bad gasket will suck in air and make it lean but if it was one bad gasket and 2 bad cylinders you have other problems. On the cylinders & pistons you "might" get by with a hone and rings, it depends on the damage and how they check out.

Sounds like it has been burning oil or just plain overheated. Pics would help but if one gasket went it is possible that whoever put it together didn't torque either head down correctly........I would hone and fit new rings and go over it piece by piece to ensure it is assembled correctly.

i **** canned my 106 and went with a 103 and weisco pistons ,, you can only go .010 oversized with the 106 find a diferent make piston and fit the looser than .001 in IMHO S&S fit them to tight, fit my 103 .002 for the front and .0025 for the rear and im using S&S 103 juggs, i just finished the 1000 mile break in and didnt lose a drop of oil

Just ordered the Fuel moto 107 jugs pistons, will evaluate the 106 as far as repairability. Will get pics soon.

Looked at the cyls and they were glazed pretty good. the FM kit go's on today, seems the pistons were tight. I am keeping the 570 ES cams, its a mid range cam, I like low end tq on my Ultra, but the mid tq for the dyna is fine.
