may be alittle off topic. but i just got some skull candy ear buds for my ipod. world of difference there. they block the wind out big time so they can also be used just as plugs. but makes your music very nice. beats the hell out of the alternative. which would be crappy ear phones or nothin in your ear at all. only 20 bucks at radio shack
Nice. I buy them 100/box at Lowes and I think they're about $15.
Loud pipes are one thing, but what really gets you is the constant wind noise. It also contributes to fatigue.
I've been wearing ear plugs inside a full face helmet for years and I've never had a situation where lack of hearing was a problem.
No need to feel like you are different or weird, as most of us that have abused our hearing for years are now starting to pay the price. You look young that knowing what I know now, I too would have started to wear ear plugs years ago. Good choice!!
protecting my ears is one of the biggest reasons I wanna switch from my skid lid to a 3/4 helmet
Just made the swap to a 3/4 two weeks ago, it does help greatly, notice I hear much better after riding. I actually bought it for my glasses buffeting, better hearing was a side benefit..........
I'm thinking you didn't read my post at all, if you're suggesting I get Docs Proplugs instead.
As far as the other post go: I've been using the squishy ones for concerts for a while now. They've always done just fine for me. But when I seen these I started to realize that I never have really liked the fact that the squishy ones drown out all sounds...even the ones I want to hear. Then there's the sounds that aren't even there that they create. Such as when you're walking with them in, and you hear that jarring in your head with ever step. To me they always make each step sound like a stomp in my brain. Not to mention, they can get a bit uncomfortable after a while. And I never used to wear anything when on the bike, but my new BCT baffles told me it might be a good idea. I think it's going to be weird at first to be honest with ya. Maybe even play tricks on me, to be able to hear conversations and noises in my surrounding at a normal level, yet have the filters quiet down just the bike or any other harmful decibel levels. Seems it'll be a little tripped out at first to hear other surroundings, yet have the bike muted a bit.
