Default Earplugs with filters

I am looking to buy what is known as musicians ear plugs But need to know what would be a good decibel rating. The store is recommending 25 db. But some have warned me that may block out too much noise. If you are using these type of earplugs can you tell me what db. Filters you are using in them? Thanks

I'm not sure about "musician's ear plugs" but the Wife and I wear "Earpeace" ear plugs.
They come with two levels of attenuation.

When rehearsing with my band (a very loud Metal band at the time), I used -15 dB filters in my custom molded earplugs, and they were perfect. For riding, I wouldn't bother with filters; they're designed to give you an even frequency reduction so that you don't lose all the high end you have when using regular earplugs, and you can hear the music properly. You don't need this for wind noise, so just get the highest dB rated regular earplugs you can find.

Cheers!

Highly recommend Comply ear bud tips. They make a range of them for almost every style earbud on the market. Most comfortable and block the wind while still hearing the important sounds. I also use them at loud concerts just to keep my hearing on point.

I use EP3s. Being able to pop them open is a nice option.

These are similar to what I've used for years. They really keep the wind noise down, which is why I wear them...not because of my pipes.

I've tried a variety of ear plugs over the years just to block out wind noise. So far the Ear Peace brand has worked best for that, while allowing the important sounds to come in albeit less audible. Same with wind noise. Still there, but less audible. In general, these have worked best

I wear the foam plugs that you roll up and install, then they expand. My wife prefers Beneficial Products Inc., a blue formable type that is reuseable forever. The foam type I wear are rated at 29 dba reduction. I never ride the bike without them, you get used to them quickly and forget they are even in. You hear with your brain and it quickly learns to focus on what is necessary or important and filter out what is not. I learned a lot the hard way and won't sacrifice any more loss. we all know guys that are almost deaf thanks to riding and being hard headed (tough).

I am using Eargasms with a -15 dBl rating. I like not having to roll them up although those block more noise.
