My next questions is the 170 a radial. There isn't much that is clear. I know the 160 is bias, but I thought I saw on one website that the 170 was a radial. Another said bias and others didn't have much info on the 170 at all.
I Have run metzlers for years on my 90 softail...always loved them. I recently bought PM rims for my 06 streetbob and am probably going to put Metzlers on them too although i think i have to go with a wider rear (180) its a bigger rear rim 18"
Why choose metz ? Im running an Avon Storm II Ultra dual compound on the back in a 170/60x17 and up front an Avon Venom 110/90x19..can vouch for them, ride all or most of the year here in sweden in all weathers.Good tyres that grip in all weathers and the bike just falls into corners.

Everything I've read about the Avon's is that they wear fast. Is that true in your case??
Bike is looking good by the way. I haven't seen those pics!! How low did you go??
Have'nt keept exact mileage details sorry but know that the Dual compound avon rear tyre has outlasted the original Dunlop and the SE180..I do roughly the same miles each year(8000),the original and SE180 were worn out in one year,The rear avons just come up to that and still got lots left.
Remember this ones the Avon Storm 2 Ultra 170/60ZR17 dual compound..not the old Avon Storm-ST.
RE: Low..on the rear is the 11"412 HD Progressives and up front I dropped it 1" with Progressives drop in kit..

I know this thread is a few months old but I though I'd offer my experience. On my Dyna Bob I too experienced the wobble at +70 running the Stock tires.
Cause: Low tire pressure front and rear. Needed to be checked everyday. With +2500 mi. on stock rear it started again. I came close to a tank slapper at 85mph. Kept it under 80 until I changed rear at 3200 mi to a Radial ME 880 170/60-17. As stated earlier its a little wider. The tread on the Stock front looked ok at 10,000 mi. but the side had a few cracks (Changed it at 12,000.) I too was concerned about a BIAS front and a Radial rear.
I'm curretly running the ME 880 170/60-17 - rear, 110/90-19 - front. I got about 5000 mi out of the rear I replaced for the stock. I ride 10 mi solo with a tour pack loaded with about 20lbs 5 days a week and average 125 mi on the weekends. I ride it like I stole it!!!!!
I noticed a low speed Wobble after i put 1000 mi on rear. I had the High Speed wobble at times but not everytime. I was perplexed so I come here to find simular problems and solutions. My cure was "AIR PRESSURE". 40f/46r solved it. I discovered here that the Metzlers run higher pressure. Need to be checked everyday because of my area's temp fluxiations.
