Has anyone used the new Dakota Digital? I am researching this for the replacement of the stock speedo on the 2010 FXD.
Dakota Digital is proud to introduce the next generation bar mount speedometer. The MCL-5000 Series replaces the popular HLY-5011. As with all of the MCL-5000 Series gauges these speedometers are easily visible in direct sun.
Features include:
* 0- 255 MPH/ km/H user adjustable speedometer
* Odometer and Trip Odometer
* Indicators for Left and Right Turn Signals, High beam, Neutral, Low Oil Pressure and Check Engine
* Choice of Black or Chrome housing
Dimensions:
* 3-1/2" x 2"
Black housings are estimated to start shipping in March 2011.
**The MCL-5000 series gauges use BKT-50xx Series brackets and SEN-60xx Series senders.
***Dakota Digital Instrument systems are normally shipped from the factory with "0" miles on the odometer. If you would like mileage added to the odometer, this can be done at the factory for a charge of $20. Please contact Dakota Digital to arrange this service.

I have the #3204 on my 09 FXD and love it. Its a direct replacement for stock with a lot more features.
I did see the #3204 and I do like it but, I am trying to change the look of the round speedo mounted on the bars. I am going to eventually go with the mini apes or some other type of ape bars in the near future.
I ordered the blacked out lenses and bulb replacement for the front turn signals. I am also removing the reflectors on the front forks this weekend. Then all I have left is finding the right seat for me. Lepera, Corbin, or C&C.

I went HLY-3015 here. Just be careful with the installation if you go full custom like me; the master tech at the dealership still talks about that install.

Yes bikertrashchad, That is another option I really like from Dakota Digital. Do you go by mileage when you eliminate the fuel gauge? I usually fill up every 100 miles.
It is a hate/ love relationship I have with my speedo on the bars. I really like not having to look down to see the speedometer on the tank. I use it as a reference for shifting. There are a lot of hills and curves "twisties" here in the mountains of WNC.

That isn't too bad of a unit. Dakota Digital makes an excellent product and I see that this one deals with the problem of relocating the idiot lights when switching out the factory housings on FXDs.
In my case, lacking a tach, I went with the 3204 to get the digital tach, 0-60, 1/4 mile, engine temp, gear indicator, etc., etc. I relocated the idiot lights to the tank console.

I stopped by a local body shop today and talked to a guy that looked like he rode a few HD's in his time. Had nothing to do with all the tattoos. Anyway after shooting the **** for 30 minutes. He removed my fork reflectors in about 20 minutes. He used a heat gun then scraped and pried the reflectors off with a bondo scraper and then cleaned up the adhesive with a cleaner. I asked him how much do I owe you and he said nothing. Don't worry about it! I asked him what brand of beer he drank and he said Yuengling. I walked next door to the BP gas station and bought him a 12 pack. What a difference! The forks look nice and clean. I am now waiting for the smoked lenses from Dennis Kirk for the front signals.
