I was filling out the Harley Davidson Advisory Panel Survey yesterday and they were asking opinions on some future advertising. They showed several ads and wanted to know what we thought about the pics they showed us and how they made us feel. Several were about expanding the 103 to more models, and one was showing what looked like a Wide Glide with Windshield, Bags similar to a Heritage, and a tall Sissybar on it. the Caption called it the 2012 Harley Davidson Switchback. Was it just hypothetical, or has anyone actually heard of this model? Forgive me if it's been covered before.
I haven't heard of it specifically, but it may just be a WG with some P&A catalog parts on it like these: http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...te=Dyna/0/2011
My guess is "switchback" refers to easy on/off accessories like on the CVO Softail Convertible.
Dammit...I was on hd.com earlier and got the survey pop-up and closed it. I need to try another pc in the house to see if it'll pop-up again. Maybe I can get a screenshot.

I would have to agree--even the switchback jacket has the "textile outer panels that zip-off to create a mesh jacket". Both the jacket and the bike would allow the user to "switch back" and forth between two different configurations quite easily. And then the term"switchback" would have a uniform meaning across the entire HD product line.
