Umm, Pbilt was exhibiting a little tongue-in-cheek on his response per the "Rumor EPA" thread that everyone was saying bikes will be water-cooled very soon, bla bla bla

FWIW, the Switchback is one of the models approved by California enviro board for 2012. Shows it w a 1688/103 engine.

click on the "here" link to see all brands approved for 2012. The numbers at the ends of the pdf links designate the engine sizes for H-D. dd50

Don't really like any of it. Other than the head light assembly, which I am sure will not fit my bike.

That's pretty much exactly it. With a lower seat, narrower frame, lighter weight, and lower center of gravity it is a Road King for shorter people or people who would like a quicker handling bike. If you look at the features the front forks are also cartridge forks so the front suspension will be a lot better than the touring models that have cartridge suspension as a $200 + labor add on.

Women are a target demographic for Harley and not that this is a "girls bike" but, like the Deluxe, it goes right to that target market. For the price even if you add ABS it is a very good value considering you get hard bags and a windshield. My wife's deluxe is an 05 and she wants to get out and test ride a Switchback. That shocks me because she never talked about any bike other than her Deluxe before.

I just put a deposit on a Switchback. I was intending on a Heritage Classic, but the Switchback fit me better.
