Finally finished up my 107 build with Stg 4 heads from Hillside cycles and a bunch of mod ceck out my sig... She is at Dave's as we speak getting tuned up and broken in. I added a bunch of chrome to have a nice contrast between black and chrome.
When i get her back she is going into the booth to get paint here is my delima my original idea was the elanor Mustang paint which is Pepper Grey Metallic with Gloss Black Racing Stripes... I am starting to second guess changing the base color to something different then black due to all the black i have on the bike already so my next option is should I do a base color of gloss black with a nice flake in it and do some nice racing stripes in a flaky silver or something like that so the bikes stays black but gloss instead of denim which is played out and some nice flaky racing stripes to make it pop???? what do you guys think??? Below are some pics of the new 107 built motor that is diamond cut and powder coated Silver aswell as a pic of the bike with my new mods so you can get a idea of what paint will look the best... Thanks guys
motor is gonna scream! how ddid she dyno? personally i hate stripes i think they are played out, look into a two tone or maybe scalop the tank... i like the idea of a flake
LOVE the cut on the jugs man!!! but the top of the motor in chrome looks out of place goes from a black block, siver cut jugs, and chrome rockers... maybe just swap the top rocker box out with the SE wrinkle finish... to tie in the motor a bit more... and that is easy to do
Bad *** bike man! That thing just looks like a screamer. And what Joe said...post those dyno numbers when you get them.
Also, I think the chrome on top of the motor looks great there. Although I've seen stripes from time to time, I don't think they're played out in the every day world, so to speak. Or at least not nearly as much as the blacked out theme is. So if you want them, go for it. Another thought is what about leaving the base denim color alone all together, and then adding gloss black stripes with a metal flake in there? Or maybe even toss a little fleck/speckle of color throughout the gloss black stripes? That way you're not having to worry about changing too much and making a risky move you may regret. Subtle stripes, but they're there, and then the flake adding just a little flare. Just thinking out loud. I personally like the subtleness of a gloss black stripe on a flat black paint of the same color and then a little something in just to make it pop out a little. But hey, I'm no painter. So don't listen to me. I'd ask your painter for their professional opinion before you go with anything. They usually have some of the best advice. Go figure, right?
Whatever you choose to go with, I can't wait to see the finished product. Good luck with it!

I dont know the numbers yet dont get her back from the tuners till the weekend... Also I dont think the chrome rockers look out of place I had the black tops didnt like em I am just really tired of the whole black thing its getting way to played out actually the bike came with chrome uppers and lowers stock so I think it looks good like that. On the stripes you think they are played out on bikes or cars I havent seen to many bikes with racing stripes on them especially in a flaky silver or something like that...
So what do you think doing a black base and using the Pepper Grey Metallic as a two tone on the tank like the dished look? So asking your opinion what paint job would you do on my bike just for an idea always good to get ideas like someone elses eyes I think always help. So what would you do??
Dave wouldn't be Dave @ jds cycleworks now would it? He will tune that motor to perfection! Definitely post up your sheet man, that thing is gonna be a beast!
i like that you tried the black, nice when you have them on hand to give it a try and then go with what looks better! I personally would do a 2 tone, lower 1/2 in the gun metal and upper in the black... would look slick!
