Default Radials?

I was told radials handle better than stock tires, is this true? I'm buying tires for my ride an 08 wide glide and want the best bang for the buck it now has a 160 thinking a 180 I don't know the dealer said he could do a 160 low profile, how is the ride with a low profile? pics would help.

Every one I know that has used radials liked them. Not many were mounted to harleys though. Someone with a bagger I know used them and liked them.

I think you'll find anything handles better than the stock tires. I went with an Avon Venom on the front and a Storm on the rear, as per their website. That's a bias ply on the front and a radial on the rear. The difference is night and day.

Default Radials

I have radials on both ends of my bike. They are Michelin sport bike tires...the front is a 110/80/19 and the rear is a 190/50/17. The grip is phenomenal but they don't last as long as the stock Dunlops. I got 6K out of the first rear and have about 1K on the present one. They DO NOT follow tar snakes and feel a lot more solid in turns over the stock tires including the S.E. 180 that I had on. It lasted about 4K.
BTW they are Pilot Road and not the Pilot Road II, which has a dual compound tread. The manager of the shop, where I bought the newest rear, said he used the same tires for rain tires on his track sport bike. Said they grip as good as rain tires, are cheaper, and last longer.

Are you running a wider rim? That tire is meant for 6.00 rim. I think Michelin discontinued the Pilot Road. The Pilot road 2 170/60 -17 rear looks interesting.

Default Rim

Yes, I am running a 6.25" rim. That was a big as I could go without changing the swing arm and trans offset.
The Pilot Road is still available from my sources but it may be discontinued.
