i've been having this on again/off again issue with my ride
after riding it hard for a while, when i get off the highway and come to a stop the bike idles real rough and wants to shut down and die.
no idea what's causing it, checked all my fuel hoses and there's no clogs or kinks.
i wana get out this week and give the bike a good shakedown run, see if it happens again.
i'll try running some injector cleaner through the system to see if that helps, other than that i'm thinking of taking it back to my tuner to see if he can pick something out wiht my AFR on the dyno.
Had a similar issue with my 07 before i sold it, The problem ended up being the fuel pump..but you can also have the fuel pressure regulator checked out as well...hope that helps?
May be a long shot, but check your wiring, specifically the speed sensor. Had a similar issue when I first installed my Dakota Digital. Bike ran like a champ except for idle. I had missed the connection for the speed sensor, once connected the idle was back to normal.
Stop by your local auto parts store and get you a can of throttle body cleaner, remove ac cover and filter spray the inside of the throttle body liberally keep rags handy to soak up any that runs out, open throttle to get as much of the black gunk out as possible, also clean the idle-air-controller IAC, plunger in the top of the throttle body. there is a small hole in the top so you can get this clean, this part will cause rough idle when it gets dirty. let soak awhile and repeat. you will be suprised how much gunk builds up in there, I clean mine every oil change.
do a search for IAC. I remember some threads here awhile back where the same symptoms were mentioned and it ended up being the IAC. Someone had a great explanation about it being an inferior part and after having run the bike at speed the IAC loses it's value. I'm having the same problem. Next time it happens shut your bike off and wait a couple seconds. Start your bike and if it idles normal then that would be a good indicator of the IAC. shutting the bike down essentially resets the IAC giving it the proper value.

Could just be crap gas. I know there's a couple of stations I've stopped buying from. You'd think at over $4 a gallon, they could at least provide a half decent product?!
