Default New to HD - Need some advice!!!!!!!!

I just bought a 2010 Street Bob and am in need of suggestions on accessories. Does anyone know of a good tank mount for an iphone that won't scratch? Also suggestions on removable saddle bags vs permanent. Suggestions to a type of those, I do not like the beads and frills hanging off.

Thanks for all your help in advance,

Mark

Use the force young Skywalker. Leave the iphone in your pocket.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

To the OP - do some searches on the main page to find info quicker. Can't help on the Ipod, but any magnetic case should do.

Detachable Saddllebags:

-Harley
-Boss Bags
-Easy Brackets
-Do it yourself (find the threads on how to do this)
-Many other options/companies

If you are new to Harley and your Street Bob, I would recommend not spending a lot of money on anything until you read through A LOT of these threads and check out all the bikes and custom items. You will likely spend $500 on something you could get for $100, or do yourself for $10.

Good luck and welcome.

I am looking to use the Iphones GPS feature, I want to be able to just go where I want and the road takes me but once I get there be able to find my way back if I so desire...
I also would like to be able to view calls to see if important enough to stop and take the call or not..

I second DSnoop's advice. A little searching and seeing what other members are doing with their Street Bobs will get you a long way. These subjects are brought up daily....
For instance, there's been about 4 threads started on bags just within the last few days. Take it in, get a taste for it all, and soon enough you'll know which way you want to go. Welcome and enjoy!

You are so missing the point...

1. Half the journey are the stories you get from getting lost and stumbling across god only knows what trying to find your way back.

2. There ARE no calls important enough to stop for when you're riding that you can't catch up on when you pull in for gas or to stretch your legs.

(Not being overly serious here, so take this as a lighthearted jab as that's all it is...)

You will likely spend $500 on something you could get for $100, or do yourself for $10.
And this is so true!

Welcom to the club, not sure of a tank mount. But I like to use my iphone as a gps device as well and here is the handlebar mount that I am going to buy for my bob:

Harley now sells and iphone holder that attaches to the tank via 6 magnets, cost is about 35.00 and has holes for the headphones and power and a clear window so you can control and see your iphone, also works well with any type mp3 player.called Boom audio tank pouch part is 91003-10, i have one and works great, i have also used it for my Nuvii GPS

I'm gonna have to look into this... I have the medium aqua box mounted on a dual sport bike but didn't like the look on my fat bob.
