Bike quit - electrical?

Bike quit - electrical?
I was riding my misses 08 Fat Bob today, a couple times I thought it cut out on me for a second but kept going so I thought it was ok. About a block from the house it quit on me altogether. Whe the ignition is on there isnt any electrical power, no lights, horn, nothing. I let it set a couple minutes and tried again, the electrics came on but as soon as I hit the starter switch everything went dead again.
I think its the orginial battery, the last few months it has been starting kind of slow so I was thinking that I may need to replace.
Does the bike need a fully charged battery to run teh computer and fuel pump, or once its running does it matter?
The bike is now in my neighbors driveway, no way I can push it up my driveway.
Any ideas?

I know it need a near fully charged battery to start, or the computer shuts off spark to the cylinders. Sounds like a bad battery or loose battery terminals. I wish they never put philips head on those terminal bolts, you cant torque down the bolt enough with a screwdriver, need to use a wrench...
I'd try a new battery or at least give it a good charge to get it back to your house and then go from there.

Battery teminals were tight, I cleaned and tightend them a few weeks ago. I disconnected the battery terminals and reattached.
The bike started right up. Im going to replace the battery anyway, its my misses bike and I dont want her stranded.
