Default Check Engine Light - 2007 Street Bob

I have a 2007 SB that I have had since brand new. For three years I have been running her with a Ness big sucker - V&H SS slip-ons stage one, with a V&H Fuelpak module and XIED's from Nightrider.

Ever since doing that, my performance has been amazing. smooth, powerful, no backfiring, it runs like a raped ape.

I have had no problems with throwing codes or any other abnornal indications. Just took her out of the basement this past month (I live in New England), and she has been running like always. The last few rides though, I notice the check engine light staying on longer after start up. I also noticed it come on when I was in 6th gear on the highway, but at low rpm's... Finally I pulled up to a stop light yesterday, and the idle was lower than normal, and again it came on. It went away after I pulled away from the stop light.

I maintain this bike extremely well; oil changes at end of each season, new plugs every season, etc etc.

I have no desire to bring her to the local HD dealers so they can give me a buch of crap about codes, etc and try to sell me a SERT.

Could I be losing an O2 sensor? Opinions are welcome, smart assed answers are also always aprreciated, so long as real advise comes along with it.....

might have thrown a code. you probably need a SERT. i'd let the dealer have a look at it.

sorry...

EDIT: now see serious advice in threads below & good luck.

Check to see if has thrown a code and what it is, and go from there, my check engine light
flickered, pulled the code, P0131, front 02 sensor, called the service Mgr. at my local dealer, he said to jiggle the wire? WTF?, went out jiggled the wire, no more check engine
light, back on the road. Good Luck!

i have an 07 streetbob with very similar setup as yours. i did a search on this forum about ecm codes. there is a thread that instructs you how to get codes to display on speedo and also lists what each code is. i don't have a link to the thread, but i remember that i found it pretty easy on this forum. i had already paid local hd dealer 109.00 to diagnose and they did nothing but tell me i had a bad powercommander and recommended i change to sert. no surpise. i did more research on forum and found problem myself and had it fixed in less than 30 minutes. good luck.
