Default forward control advice/suggestions

Hey guys, been riding a sb a little more than a year now and have never been a fan of the mids (first street bike ive ever had with em). Anyway, im fed up with em and have decided to do away with em.

My question is this - Im not looking to break the bank on this purchase, but i aint being cheap either. What controls/kits would you suggest?

I'm in the same boat you are. I really want some foward controls on my Street Bob as well. My only concern is that it looks like a pain in the *** to install them. It looks like you would have pull the whole primary to get the old shift linkage out and plug the outer and inner holes.

I installed the $300 extended Kury's on my bike (34" inseam). Easy to do, just cap the splined shaft and tuck the link arm in with the supplied cap and clip.

The quality is very good. Once you go to forwards, you still have ways to change them. I first bought larger pegs, then peg/stirrups, then floorboards. I finally settled on the boards.

I would go with the genuine Harley set up myself.

I'm not happy with the quality of the chrome on the Kuryakyn stuff, seen it flaking and pitting within a year.

You can find the Harley forward control sets on eBay for approx 300 also...in black, or chrome...I've seen them for about 290 even. Brand new. The HD ones do not require removal of the primary.

I was going to get forwards...but just a week or so ago landed a sweet deal on highway pegs on eBay for 61 bucks....plus 3 bucks for a set of bolts at Lowes....I'm trying them out for a while. Gives me the best of both worlds....because I have a bad lower back and stiff leg muscles...I can adjust my legs to either position while riding..instead of being stuck with just one position.

Its JP1... He's looking for an outer primary with the Race tech says the spacer should sit 1" to 1 1/4" above fork tube. Mine was at 2 7/16". I cut out 1" so its 1 7/16" and it still sits pretty tall but doesnt top out as bad.... I think its good...hole for mids now...
His bike is an 09 fatbob
