acetylene torch and a 12" power saw will probably do the trick.

You should be able to slide a screwdriver (or Torx) between the seats and loosen the bolt. The p pad will release without having to yank on it, possibly marring your paint. PITA, for sure.

Take out the rear phillips head screw, pick up the bike, turn it upside down, shake it.

Sometimes the pan of the riders seat has hole cut out to go over the strap bolt in the fender. If you don't lift the seat up enough the bolt catches on the edge of the hole when you wiggle it backwards and you will sit there for ages wiggling the seat and cursing.
Lift the seat a tad higher to clear the bolt.

Tried that.... this bike is so LIGHT compared to my old eGlide...

Anyway - thanks to the responses here I was able to get the seat off successfully.

step 1 remove screw (sissy bar removed for improved access)

step 2 push the seat forward (toward the rider seat) while lifting up. The seat comes off neatly.

You can see the hole the fender mounting peg fits into on the passenger pillion.

View of the fender mounting peg.

Thanks to all for the help!
