Default Retail/Trade 2008 Dyna! NO WAY

So I went to my not so local dealer today intertaining the idea of trading for a Street Glide!

What should I expect to get for my 2008 FXDC? Perfect Condition, no scratches, HD pegs plus gear shifter peg, HD quick detachable sissy bar and lugage rack, HD quick detachable windshield, mustang seat, Rush slipons .........

>>>>>>>>>>>8,000>>>>>>>>> Not a chance I will keep her and later just buy a street glide and keep my DYNA. Am I expecting too much, I was expecting something closer to 10,000. Hell, I am seeing 2007 Street glides going for $19 and basic new ones are 18,999.

I have a 2008 Dyna FXD ,bout ready to turn 30k miles on it, its been a very reliable and excellent riding bike, zero complaints about anything....I would like to have a Road King one day, but i do not plan on getting rid of the Dyna.....As far as trade value, you gotta remember that you will not get anything in return for all the Xtras you put on your bike .....Its just the way that goes, You Would be better to sell it privately, and even then its tough getting money for what all you have added to it....But if you are patient you may find a buyer who is willing to pay a little more for it.

Surprised they offered that much. Not saying it's right or wrong, though. You always do better selling a used vehicle rather than trading it in.

Friend just sold a 2008 FXDC with only 1900 miles on it last Saturday here in So Cal for $9700. Had all kinds of extra stuff (roll bar, saddle bags, windshield), but needed a good detail.

Take off all the extra crap you think is worth so much and sell it on eBay then ask $9,500 for your bike on Craigslist. How many miles are on it? $8K sounds like a good wholesale value from the dealer. For some people it's worth the loss just to bypass the headache of having idiots coming over your house for a free ride.

My son in-law has been looking at an 09 street bob with 9000 miles on it for about $8000.

Probably should have taken it and rode away with the new bike.
