Regarding load equalizers, those are a bummer. My primary reason for wanting LED's is to reduce the load on the alternator while riding.
If it works with the LED's on the rear, and standard incandescent 1157's up front, I guess I'm halfway there.
Also, the "load equalizers" are nothing more than resistors. Radio Shack has those, plenty cheap. Just get sufficient wattage resistors and install them in series with the LED's if you need them. Sadly, though, load equalizing resistors will bring the load back up to the same level as the incandescent lamps.
If I need them, I may experiment with lower resistance values, just to decrease the load as much as possible without causing the signal circuit to behave as though there is a burned-out lamp.
I learned that the WG plugs are different from other models when I installed the license plate/signal relocation kit. Not a big problem for me, only a slight nuisance.
How much brighter are these than the stockers? I'll probably grab a set.
I just went out and snapped a few pics for you. The bike is sitting in my garage and door is wide open so the garage is pretty bright right now. This is without a flash on the camera. I tried to capture the LEDs and represent them well. They are brighter than the stockers.
You could always give it a shot with leds in both without the equalizer. I ran the autozone led lights in the rear with no front signals and every thing worked fine, all that happens is the turns blink a little faster. I have since put the front turns back on and am planning to do the same thing myself.
