wideglide lacing problems
i bought a 17x6 hoop and got it powdercoated black...now im lacing it up and cant get close to the offset needed with out one side of the spokes hanging on by just a couple threads...do i need a different hub?? i cant seem to win..i already ruined one set of spokes..im about ready to say heck with it and use the stock hoop..
You shouldn't need any offset, both hoops will run in the centre of the hub. I have bulit heaps of wheels and the rim sits where it sits, the spoking pattern sees to that as all the angles are bulit in.
Sometimes wider wheels have a deeper drop center. I know when I did my wheel the spokes are offset sizes, I know there are indy shops around here that will provide lacing and trying services for pretty cheap.
You might be able to call Buchanan spoke also, they got me what I needed... good luck

i was lacing the wheel how the harley manual states..the rear wheel should have .615 to .655 offset to the rotor side...i think i will mess with again next winter..im just at my wits end..
