Looking to buy a new set of shocks for my SB. Looking for a more comfortable ride than the stocks. I here some talk about the progressive shocks. Does anyone have them? How good are they? Any help would greatly be appreciated.
For the money standard height OEM air shocks work pretty well, I've found they offer a fairly smooth ride, don't bottom out except on a BIG pot hole and did I mention they were cheap? New take off shocks (54565-09) - $52 on ebay and another 50ish for the line kit and air fittings.

The best are Ohlins and Ricor in my opinion and experience. Just don't expect much if you go with lowered shocks, there is nothing that can compensate for more inches of travel.
Without breaking the bank the Works streetrackers are just fine.
If you want to improve the ride go with a slightly longer shock.
I went with a 12 5/8". No bottoming out at all and the ride is very adjustable.
I started with the hardest setting but it was too stiff and adjusted to a nice comfortable ride. Way better than stock.
+1 on the Ricors, I went with the 12" sport tuned, the only thing I might have changed would be the touring tune. Otherwise some of the best money spent.
