streetbob tank removal
Has anyone removed their bob's tank?If so how.
I ask 'cause it looks a little different from my old ironhead,
what with the fuel injection and all.

The service manual describes it pretty well and I don't have mine handy but I'll wing it.
The manual tells you to pull the fuse for the fuel pump and crank it a bit (perhaps run until it dies) then it is safe to remove the fuel connector. That just depressurizes that line. If I remember right, it is a quick disconnect type of thing where you push up or pull down on the sleeve and it releases easily.
Then obviously you'll need to take the dash off and get whatever wires out of the way. The crossover tube will also need to be removed and the tank drained which sucks.

Thanks.The bike's in a storage unit along with the
manual(somewhere) and all my stuff.The tank got
sugared last week end,so I'll have to skip the start
up part.

change the fuel crossover line, too..... get the chrome braided one after you ruin the stock one that came with it

Is this a somewhat common thing? That is horrible!
