I own a FXDBI with Stage I SE A/C SEII pipes & SERT (Runs Good)
I am considering getting the SE stage II big bore kit.
The dealer wants $2300.00 for parts & labor.
Just wondering has anyone done it ?
Is this a good price is it worth it?
From what I have learned here, it sounds a bit pricey to me. Just buy the parts form zanotti's or chicago hd, and do the install yourself, and you'll save a bundle. But that is up to you. I dunno how to do that stuff...YET. I'll learn. Check out a couple of indie's and see what their quote is.
Is it worth it? You bet. Add in some 204 cams and the bike will be a sreamer (for a Harley).
$2300 isn't too bad a price if that includes the cams. If cams are extra, I'd pass. Find another dealer who is having a winter upgrade special or something like that.
If you have an Indy do it, or do it yourself, you may end up with some warrenty problems later. I'm a pretty fair chadetree mechanic, but I let the dealership do this job. Had it done before I took delivery of the bike.
I was thinking about the 103 for the Dyna myself, but for the money many recommend the 95 with the cams. Dealers around here are looking at $3800 for that on a winter special
