after looking at several sites and pics online im a little confused as to what a customized bike is!!! secondly that being said would you consider my 04 dyna lowrider a custom bike?
To me custom isn't something that every one else got on their bike, it got to be different, you know like home made,a personal touch.like one of a kind paint or lighting, even a custom seat with custom flames sewn in,any thing that isn't stock!
Strictly speaking, custom means it cannot be purchased off the shelf.
I think most think it is just something that makes it different than everyone else.
There's a difference between adding accessories and customizing. Customizing is usually one off, made to fit or fill a specific purpose. That's an accessorized bike. Not bad looking, nice and clean, but not custom, either.
This is what I would consider a "custom" Dyna build:
As you're seeing there are a number of definitions.
To me, you're bike is a customized bike, not a custom bike. To me, customizing is taking something and making it yours and not exactly like anything else. My Dyna is a customized bike.
A custom bike is something that is built to be more one-of-a-kind from the ground up. To me, these are examples of custom bikes:
You'll see many different definitions of "customized"
To me, customized means taking something in stock form and changing it to suit you, your needs, and taste.
Personally, I don't get caught up in the debate. "is my bike custom?" It represents who I am, as I'm sure yours does. With that said, who cares whether people think its custom or not.
thanks to all who help clear that up ... nice accessories, dont make it custom. but it dont really matter as long as im happy with it, u betta believe I LOVE MY BIKE

Exactly!
I guess one way to look at it is this.... If you buy a spec home and make changes to it you have customized an existing plan. If you have some one design a home around your wants and desires starting from scratch it's a custom home. Same thing with bikes.
