Hello all
I installed a set of 4' pulled back risers on my ride yesterday in antcipation of good weather this morning, but I noticed now my front wheel will not lock and the ignition key will no longer turn all the way to the lock symbol on the ignition, everything else seems to work fine. Anyone knows what caused this, did I just screw something up? All I did was replace the risers, and straightened the brake line a bit, and replaced the license plate with a layed back one. Any feed back is greatly appreciated. Thanks Ray
blkdimon8... Hope this helps... As mikeurig said searching may help when you got a problem...Later Skee
I don't know if this will help anyone else out if their lock screws up, but, I fixed mine. As I said in my first message mine wouldn't lock, you could put your finger under the fork and feel the indent where the pin goes in to lock the fork, mine wouldn't go in so the key wouldn't turn all the way.. Well I got a mirror and a flashlight looked up and found out there is a cavity next to the lock cylinder and it looked like the pin was out of alignment with the fork pin receiver... So I put my screwdriver in the cavity and pushed against the lock cylinder and bingo the pin moved into the indent and my key which was always a pain to lock up and turn worked great... better than it ever did. So It may help you if yours locks up when your on the road to have screwdriver in the tool pouch... I didn't apply a lot of pressure to move the cylinder so it is loose and probaly should be brought in but at least you can make it home...
Thanks Fellas, should have done the search in the first place. (Slapping forehead) Appreciate it. Did what you posted Skee locked right up. Just finished wiping my baby down and the weather man said it's currently 68 degrees so i'm outta here and taking advantage of the sunshine. Good Karma to everyone. Again thanks, saved me the price of a tylenol. Ray
