Default Decel popping

with stock Intake, Pipes and ECM...

Bike used to do it occaisionally, now it does it every time i back off the gas.

Not thinking that it is damaging the bike, just curious as to why it has suddenly started. (and if it is somehow damaging the bike then i'd like to know).

Just shy of 7K miles on the bike.

Thoughts?

Check the torque on the pipe flange bolts at the heads.

These bikes run very lean, I just pulled the trigger and bought Fuel Moto's brand power
commander, 239.00 plus shipping, and what a difference, had xied's, they worked ok,
but still had a lot of popping, and my scoot ran very hot.
Fuel Moto (Jamie) really hooked me up, no more popping, no more extreme heat, and
much more power, wish I'd done it sooner, plus any changes you make to your scoot
you can remap your self, easy to do, did I say I have more power? visit there web site
you can spend more money on one of these wigets, but why? www.fuelmoto.com

Be sure to twist the throttle completely off between shifts. Anything else dumps fuel thru the system, creating the backfire.

Saving my pennies for a PCIII as we speak, not quite there yet. 2 more paychecks then i'm in

as for the popping, it just seems a bit odd that it went from occaisonally to all the time almost overnight. Gonna check head pipe torques and pipe joins tonight just to see if something has loosened up a bit.

+1 on this.
It really does make a difference, next time you are out, cruising down a slight hill, let of the throttle partially and listen, then do it again and roll the throttle off all the way and see if there is a difference.

As suggested, check your exhaust manifold nuts too.
