Man, I LOVE those V&H comp pipes. I would have bought a set if they were made for my bike. I have bassani pro streets on my fxdx and like them a lot. (Much more than I liked the big radius 2-2)
i second that.
I was bummed when I found out that they weren't available.

Here is a picture of my exhaust on my Dyna. They are Vance and Hines Competition exhaust.
Machinetools, how do these pipes sound? Have you heard the V&H B/R 2-1? Is the sound comparable? How's the heat coming off the pipes w/out heatshields?
Zbones2, I have not heard the sound of the V&H B/R 2-1 exhaust pipes. My father has Rinehart 2 into one exhaust on his 2007 Dyna FXD and his is louder and is more high pitched than mine. These pipes have a low pitch rumble sound and believe it or not is not that loud.
The heat is another issue. I ride day or night , rain or shine as this is my daily driver. I live where it gets to 117 degrees in the summer time. I have been to Nevada and Death Valley when it has been 120 degrees. It does get hot, but you feel it alot more when you are stoped in traffic or at a stop light. I have gotten used to it, and with my riding style I ride on the back passenger pegs almost all of the time. I have over 15000 miles on these pipes with no problems.
my first choice was a 2 into 1. choice was between big radius 2 into 1 and this bub lakester 2 into 1 that I chose. that was a nice pipe for sure. sounded like nothing id ever herd.
i just didnt consider my future mods of a burly slammer kit. the lowering kit forced me to go another direction on the pipes so they wouldnt scrape or look funny. so i chose the short shots. and decided to go another direction from teh matte black and got them powdered black.
and they came in chrome. so if you are stuck in between chrome and black just get chrome and go for powder later. good luck

I like it a lot. Stainless steel, not chrome. They sound awesome; kinda loud, but not obnoxious with a good tone. They don't have any heat shields, but you can buy some from Bassani. I plan on having a set made.

There's a ton of pictures on this thread. It's still a work in progress. I think it's getting pretty close to paint shop time, though. I don't have any Real recent photos. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...g-my-dyna.html
