I like this idea. Simple and functional. The boards don't hang out too far or sit at an odd angle. They also cover from mid to front. Nice. Did you mount them to stock pegs with rubbers removed?
While I like the boards I installed on my bike, I'm still not 100% pleased with the looks or the fact that they can't be put exactly where I want them, which would be pretty much exactly where you have yours.
Sure, I'd go with a somewhat different design, but this gives me a new idea.
Regarding the sissy bar: Is it welded directly to the strut?
I used 1x3/8 metal for the mounts both mid and forward mounting points i did grind it to where it would lift up if the touched ground. then just cut some 1/4 inch plate, mounted them where i wanted them and welded them on. the sissy bar is removable made side plates and then bent bar and welded it on, I even made a pad that slips over for my daughter to lean back on.

Very cool! I'm thinking of working on some new boards when I get home. I have a Lindby Multibar on the way, which I plan to have powder-coated black (I wish they made that one in black for my bike). I think some boards similar to yours will work best with the engine guard. Meanwhile, I might put spurs on the forwards.
I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I'll end up doing with the entire foot-peg/board combination. I like the boards up front and the mid-pegs. Both are very comfortable, but I'm not entirely happy with the overall look.
