Are you talking about the full upper tin set like this ...?

Or ... are you just referring to the 'beer cans' or 'cow bells' that afford the same cover as the boots or 'gators' a lot of guys are using on Dynas ...? (Like my signature pic before I changed out the headlight and installed the tin covers .... )

- the FL Softail models' triple trees (lower) have tabs that extend fore and aft ... they have a boss that the upper slider covers bolt into ....

- after mulling it over some, it occurs to me that perhaps a mounting bracket setup could be fashioned of a piece of steel or aluminum stock to mount transversally beneath the lower triple tree, held in place with the headlamp mounting block bolt ... hmmmm ....

[One problem that would need a 'work around' is that the FL Softail and Touring models, that use the upper fork cover, all have 41mm fork tubes; so, the cover would need to have the hole through which the fork tube goes 'hogged out' or enlarged to accomodate the larger 49mm fork tube of the Fat Bob ....]

Good luck with the concept ....

The cowbells are what I am referring to. From further study, Im sure something could be built to mount the covers but are they large enough and long enough to extend all the way to the lower forks and dust covers

Just took a measurement with a ruler (don't have calipers or a more accurate measurement device) ... they are 6-1/4" tall the lower opening is an oval measuring approx 2-3/4" x 3" (outside 'diameter') ....

You will have to compare that to your measurements ....

By those measurements they would be too short and just barely fit over the lower. It would have to be aligned perfectly.

That is what I came up with last winter when I wanted them myself.

There are aftermarket ones that are longer ... in increments of +2" as I recall ... a 'google' search might find them ... I think I've seen them in Custom Chrome, Drag Specialties or V-Twin Mfg online catalogs ....

There were a couple of sizes ... I think I might have FL touring which are described as 6-3/8" ... vice the FL Softail that are shown as 6-5/8" ....

* * *

V-Twin Part No: 24-9983 ... Stainless steel fork slider cover set is 1" over stock, with a total length of 7-5/8" ... they also have 2" over and 3" over

The lower legs on the fl softails are a little longer than the stock 41mm lowers and I also had to install a lowering kit on mine so the cowbells would cover the lower legs
