Have a "06" Dyna, and noticed today my primary is a little louder when I let the clutch out. Barely noticeable but I notice it. So, just wondering if it is the dreaded IPB starting to go bad? Have about 6500 miles on the bike.
Just bought the bike in October, sat in a barn for almost two years, had 4000 miles on it when I bought it. Yea, I can faintly hear a difference when I let the clutch out. Rode about 200 miles today in 90 degree weather so was hoping I was just being paranoid.
Yea, specifically that year! I am hearing Harley has covered a lot of the repairs as a good will gesture. I will ride it awhile and see if it gets worse.
i believe i read another post on this subject recently, whereby it talked of calling HD customer service and getting some sort of reference number from them, for use with getting the dealer to fix it at a reduced cost.
does anyone know if this practice is still in effect and if so, did i understand the procedure correctly?

I have some info on this from this forum and another forum I go to. Yes, they are still covering it, and will continue to do so from what I've heard. Your right, you have to take your bike to a dealer, then call customer service at HD, and get the reference number, then the dealer will work it out with HD. Just a pain in a--, if you know what I mean.
If you can do any wrenching yourself just get the replacement bearing from Baker. It should take less than 2 hours to change it if you go slow and the bearing is less than $50. Once you go with the Baker bearing you won't have an issue any more. When the factory bearing fails it's usually slow and obvious. It ain't leave you stranded so you could just keep riding till it gets real bad.
