I have them in my V-rod and love them , they are smooth as butter. if throttle control screw is to tight it will Bias it so wear might not be contact point but upper outside where it can get cocked from the pressure . Also if Cables are not adjusted correct it could cause same thing. Maybe if you can post a picture of where the Wear is happening we can help even a bit more.
I think the White Lith would take care of it if it is just a Odd Fit issue . Enjoy they are real nice.
