Real cheap mod.Raised the tank up 1 3/4". Took 2 hrs.
Materials:
One piece aluminum flat stock 1" x 3/16" Cost: $.0 (had it laying around in my shop)
One piece 1/2" Aluminun tube stock. Cost: $4.00 (lowes)
One 5/16" x 3 1/2" cap screw. Cost: .69c
Two 5/16" acorn nuts. Cost: $1.10
One can of spray paint. Cost $.0 (had it in my shop. Wish it was flat, not gloss)
Problems/complications...........F UCKIN' VENT HOSE,Wife. Other than that, real smooth Mod.
So if you don't have clearance for 2", maybe you have clearance for 1-3/4" or 1-1/2".
Since the tank will be tilted back some ( nose high ) is the fuel gauge off. In these tanks were does the fuel get picked up from inside the tank. Reason i ask is now the tank will be tilted back and if the pickup is in the front then will you wind up using all the fuel in the tank or will you run out quicker.

Some bikes look good with a tank lift, others don't. I installed taller risers for more comfort and it wasnt as aesthetically pleasing to my eyes so I installed a home made tank lift on mine and it really helps tie that area back together again. I also think it looks good in combination with the 1.75" lowering blocks I put on it.
