Check ebay. I bought an '07 Dyna for $8660 from a dealer in Bend, OR with 7,000 miles a year ago March. I was the only bidder, so got it for their starting price. Not a blemish on it and the folks there were great to deal with.

EFI and 6-speed was what made me search for '07 and newer. In under a week I found this one.

Not a bad idea. Hemi Thanks..

Is a Low rider with apes basically the same as a Street bob? Same rake and rear shocks?

Your original question asked about a 2002 model year Lowrider, I don't think the Bob was made in 2002. In any given year a Dyna is a Dyna with some slight differences so "better" is which ever one you think is better. If you can get a 96" 6-speed for $7k, go for it. If you find something, ask about the specific year you find for any known problems. My choice would be a 2008 or newer model year.

Gotcha.. Ok I got a lead on a 08 street bob with a few minor upgrades(seat-bags) but it has a very small dent and scratch in the tank. The guy says its really small, something I can take the tank off and bondo and paint.

7.5k miles for 8500.. What you guys think?

Back to your question about motors. The newer design motors have 6 speed trans, 49mm forks, fuel injection, internal oil lines and the newer design cam chains which have proven to be dependable. The change occured in '06 although that model is still 88ci. Everything else is the newer style. '06's did have some other issues but nothing major that a can't be fixed for less than $100 if you do your own wrenching.

NO, frames are different, the pre-06 Low Rider and Wide Glide had a 32* rake in the frame, all other Pre-06 Dyna's had 28*.
I had an 01 LR and it was a great bike, but I made the mistake of renting a Wide Glide on a trip and had to have one. The LR is a great bike, go for it.

Well I looked at it, sat on it , and rode the 02 Low rider on Mon and I thought 7k was a decent deal. Might not have been the best deal but I thought it was very fair, and as clean as it is, I was sold, so I bought it. All the cash I had was 7k anyways and I didnt want to finance another couple grand, or wait till the end of summer to get into a 07-08 street bob either..

I love it. It rides great, soaks up bumps great. It doesnt corner like my GSXR did but hey whats a little pipe scrapping..lol

This bike WAS flawless, literally.. Till on the way home I cornered a right hander too fast I guess and scrapped the pipe.. Oh well..

I will change the bars/risers and maybe forward foot controls..

What bars do you guys suggest? I know there are lots o options. I had 14" R6C apes on my last sportster and liked them a lot. But not sure if the Ape hanger bobber look is gonna work on this bike.

Maybe I should try some taller straight type risers first.. It feels like Im a little hunched over right now..I guess I should just sit up straighter.

Here it is.

Damn nice bike dude, don't let anyone tell you "Ooo I know where you can get 'em cheaper!!!" Those pecker heads are the same A$$holes that go after sellers who 'need the money now'. I'd be goddamn if I sold my 07 for 8k, **** that!

Put it to you this way, back in 2000 I had a 1987 FXLR, great bike, best bike I should have NEVER sold! I sold it for $11,500.00

Now Harleys are a dime a dozen, now any ****-fer-brains can own one. Our cool culture is now full steam ahead with a new faction of retards on two wheels, same said retards that have no business on 4 wheels.
